Warren- Happy to be selling Boy Scout Mulch- slightly more expensive than the big box retailers, but with no sales tax and free delivery, a real bargain!
Bennett- Happy his son scored in his second soccer game this spring! Also, he gives thanks for Ben Bernanke!
Chris- Happy to introduce Arthur Lampros, owner of Giorgio’s Family Restaurant, which just won a readers poll as favorite family restaurant in Northern Virginia. He will soon be opening an adjacent wine shop!
Todd Hewitt- Happy to have both kids home for spring break!
Samia- Happy that Arthur was attending! Also happy to have her school win an award from a Christian church in the area, even though she could not quote her favorite passage from scripture for them! She is also working on getting more celebrities to be waiters at the Rotary luncheon.
Club Business:
Jason talked about the visit from the GSE group next week, including a dinner at the Montclair Country Club on March 20, if anyone is interested.
Elbe mentioned that he has the donor list for the luncheon, and encourages everyone to donate something worthwhile.
Club Notice:
Alan Bridgewater’s name will be put forward by the Board for membership. If anyone has any objections, please contact the club president, Larry Kalbfleish.
Program:
Nancy Berlin, Natural Resource Specialist/ Master Gardener Coordinator from the Prince William Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension gave the club an overview of the Master Gardener program. She left information on several of their programs, including the 9th Annual Lawn & Garden Show, May 3 from 9am-3pm at the Teaching Garden of the Benedictine Monastery, 9535 Linton Hall Road, Bristow.
